Long Lawford Primary School

Using videos to tell the Long Lawford Primary story

Long Lawford Primary School and Pre-school is based in the heart of the community in Rugby, supporting a wide range of children and families as one of the largest schools in the area. Their vision was to focus on community engagement and school/parent communications, with the school embarking on a strategic initiative to create compelling video content that would showcase its values, facilities, and the joy of the school learning environment. The primary goal was to produce two videos, a comprehensive prospectus video encompassing the entire school, and a promotional video specifically tailored for their new Pre-school offering aimed at local parents.

Our approach for the prospectus video included visiting the school with a team to this ensure thorough coverage. Filming, interviews, and photography took place across two days, capturing various ages groups and school activities. The footage was then crafted into a cohesive narrative, aligning with the project brief. The pre-school video presented a different challenge, with a one-day session including classroom footage, interviews with children, teachers, and parents, to create a well-rounded representation of the pre-school. Overall, the videos showcased the happiness of the children and enjoyment of learning, whilst demonstrating the varied learning for all ages, the teacher led provisions in Pre-school and the lovely outdoor learning environment which is new to the school.

The two promotional videos were successfully uploaded to the schools YouTube channel, garnering over 2,000 views, and accumulating a total watch time exceeding 50+ hours. Engagement metric reflected a positive response, with an average of 2,000 interactions for both videos. Notably, the school gained 30+ followers directly from the delivered videos.

What a lovely video, I have watched so many times and just love it. It’s fabulous and captures the children having fun and learning, it was just what I was hoping for!
